GSM Enabled Arduino Home Fire Fighting and Gas Leakage Protection System

The Arduino Smart Fire & Gas Safety System is an integrated multi-layer home protection solution designed to automatically detect fire flames and hazardous gas leakage inside a room or building. Developed as an educational and practical safety project, this system combines sensors, automation, and GSM communication to reduce the risk of property damage and personal injury.

When the flame sensor detects fire, the controller immediately activates a loud buzzer alarm and starts a water pump to suppress the flame. At the same time, the relay module disconnects the electrical power line to prevent short circuit hazards. Using the SIM800L GSM module, the device automatically sends a mobile SMS and phone call alert to the house owner or caretaker. This feature is particularly useful for residences, shops, and small labs across Bangladesh and BD where immediate human supervision may not always be available.

The MQ-2 gas sensor continuously monitors LPG, propane, and smoke concentration. If gas leakage is detected, the system triggers an alarm, cuts off electricity using the relay, and automatically turns on an exhaust cooling fan to ventilate the room. The built-in RFID door lock system adds an extra security layer. Authorized cards open the door via SG90 servo motor, while unauthorized access attempts activate the alarm. This makes the project both a safety and security automation platform ideal for STEM education and practical demonstration at Bigyan Project.
